Imagine the silence of mother nature blended with the sound of eagles flying overhead and otter pups playing close by....

...spectacular snow cap mountain peaks in the background while marveling the flow of rose colored tectonic rock formations as you paddle your kayak.


All our kayaking adventures start with a water taxi ride to the shores of Kachemak Bay State Park known for its incredible bio diversity and abundant wildlife and nesting birds.
You will return to Homer on a water taxi.
Trip durations include check in at Alan's Water Taxi office located at the top of Ramp 2 across from the Boat Pavilion.

1Glacier Lake

Ocean & Ice: Hike & Glacier Lake Kayaking Tour

Take a 25 min boat cruse viewing sea birds & wildlife on your way to the Grewingk Lake trailhead. There, a one and a half-mile hike through old growth forest leads you to a lake at the foot of a glacier, surrounded by tall, mountain peaks. After shoreside instructions begin paddling kayaks by icebergs towards the impressive blue face of Grewingk Glacier. Enjoy a shoreside lunch on the lake’s cobble beach before the return hike to the trailhead. Stand Up Paddleboards are available

Land, Sea, & Ice: Sea Kayaking & Glacier Hike Tour

Take a boat cruise to picturesque Peterson Bay, where we begin paddling kayaks along the bay’s unique coastline. Explore tectonic rock formations and the charming artist hamlet of Halibut Cove. Glimpse sea otters and seals from water level and watch for puffins, bald eagles, and loons. The paddle will bring you to the trailhead for a one-mile hike to the stunning Grewingk Glacier Lake, dotted by icebergs and surrounded by snow-flecked peaks.
Adventure includes: water taxi, guide for the day, kayak equipment and instructions. We will also have an assortment of tasty healthy snacks and hot drinks. Check in at 7:30am– arrives back in Homer between 5 &
6pm.

Go With The Flow: Kayaking or SUP Tour

Let the tide carry you through the calm waters of China Poot Bay as you glimpse stunning scenery and wildlife from a kayak. Listen for black oystercatchers, watch for bald eagles pursuing the next meal, and keep a look out for harlequin ducks foraging along the shore. Explore the bay’s unique rose-colored rock formations that illustrate ancient tectonic forces and witness how Kachemak Bay is transformed daily by some of the largest tidal fluctuations in the world.
Adventure includes: water taxi, guide for the day, kayak equipment and instructions. We will also have an assortment of tasty healthy snacks and hot drinks. Check in at 12:30 – arrives back in Homer at 5:30

  • Layered clothes: Fleece jacket, quick dry or fleece pants, synthetic long underwear (if cool),warm socks, sun hat and warm hat if chilly, rain jacket and pants
